School Gardens

ORGANIC SCHOOL GARDENS

The City Council has no jurisdiction over schools. However, I would use my position to encourage all schools to start year-round gardens. The cost is minimal. The educational value is great. All schools have room for gardens. Kids need to eat more vegetables. I am a gardener and a cook. I have the recipes.

The key to making greens edible is to cook them. Steam them in a pressure cooker, or slow cook them with a little water in the bottom of the pot. Also pressure kook or steam the greens with sprouted lentils, sprouted chick peas, and/or sprouted chick peas. In one pressure cooker or pot you have a delicious dish.
