PRESS RELEASE – JULY 16, 2015
COUNTY EXECUTIVE CANDIDATES IGNORE ISSUES
AT LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS FORUM
Five candidates for County Executive participated in a League of Women Voters forum on July 15 in Everett. The Seattle Times sent a reporter, but the Herald ignored the event.
I presented eight major issues, which my opponents completely ignored.
I stated my opposition to commercial air service at Paine Field. John Lovick and Dave Summers support it. My opponents ignored the issue. [Commercial air traffic will reduce property values and cost the county a lot of money in reduced property taxes. It is easy to get to SeaTac; take a freeway bus to Seattle and then Link Light rail. Within a decade Paine Field would turn into SeaTac north, pre-empting more profitable use of Paine Field by new aerospace companies.]
I stated my opposition to so-called fluoridation. John and Dave have said they support fluoridation. Robert Sutherland says it is not an important issue. My opponents ignored the issue. [So-called fluoride leaches lead from pipes. It does little to nothing to reduce tooth decay and does great harm to health. It is a fraud.]
I explained how to get single occupancy drivers to leave their cars at home and eliminate traffic congestion. Powered by smart phone UberX technology, flex vans would deliver door-to-door transit. My opponents ignored the issue. [Flex vans would replace our mostly empty local buses. Flex vans and freeway buses would fill up and pay their operating cost, which would free up more sales tax revenues to complete Link Light Rail.]
I expressed support of one gigabyte fiber optic internet, which would attract high-tech business. My opponents ignored the issue.
I expressed opposition to smart meters., which are coming according to the PUD. My opponents ignored the issue. [Smart meters use insecure cell phone connections and blast out microwaves which cause harm. They can be hacked. They catch fire. They do not save consumers money.]
I pointed out that the World Health Organization has declared that Roundup to be a carcinogen, that whole countries have banned it, and that we should too. My opponents ignored the issue.
I pointed out that both so-called fluoride and Roundup kill salmon and should be banned, as other counties and other countries have done. My opponents ignored the issue.
I expressed support for non-partisan county elections. Issues which divide Democrats and Republicans on the federal and state level do not apply in city and county government. My opponents ignored the issue.
