Blast Sent to Politicians 6-26-12

Progress is being made around the country In removal of so-called fluoride (containing lead, arsenic, and hydrogen fluoride) from drinking water. See:

But the biggest state victory over the past year was in New Hampshire. On August 4th, 2012, the state of New Hampshire will become the first state to require fluoridating communities to warn their citizens about the fluorosis risk the additive poses to infants. On June 7, Governor John Lynch signed HB1416, “an act relative to a required fluoride statement.” The law will require the following notice on all consumer confidence reports, which must be mailed to all water consumers, be posted online, and available at city halls:

Your public water supply is fluoridated. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, if your child under the age of 6 months is exclusively consuming infant formula reconstituted with fluoridated water, there may be an increased chance of dental fluorosis. Consult your child’s health care provider for more information.

Everett City Council is dazed and confused, still stubbornly resisting instituting a moratorium on adding filth to drinking water.

But there is reason for hope: The Council will do whatever a majority wants, whether it is adding filth to the water or not adding filth to the water.  It is becoming apparent that a groundswell against so-called fluoridation is building, and that eventually the Council will change its position.

The Herald gets some thing right and some things wrong in its recent article, but that’s okay. Getting so-called fluoride out of the water is now being covered.

I have posted my response to the Herald article:

The pro-fluoridationists have all the money, but we have all the good ideas. Eventually we will win – if we just persevere.

And eventually the Everett City Council will wake up out of its trance and do the right thing – even if they do it for political instead of logical reasons.

Sincerely,
