WHY WOULD I THINK I AM QUALIFIED TO BE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR?
I do not claim to the best qualified person for the job. The best qualified people are not running. Among those who are running, I am the best qualified to be – lieutenant governor.
I will be a better lieutenant governor than would they. I would redefine the job. Instead of a back room party deal maker, I would be out on the road holding pre-constitutional conventions.
I would be trying to educate the public about what should be done and how we can pay for it, how we can make Washington a Quality State.
Most politicians do not try to educate the public. They poll to find out what the public believes – whether enlightened or bigoted – and they fashion their campaign around such values.
